Account Preferences

Manage your profile, appearance, regional formats, workspace currency access, MFA devices, and account deletion.

Account settings combine user-scoped preferences with shortcuts to workspace-scoped administration. Open Settings → Account and use the second navigation row to move among General, Organizations, Date & Locale, Bank Connections, Currency, Security, Teams, and Support.

General Account Settings

Avatar

Select your avatar to choose a file. The upload is stored in the account avatar area and the returned URL is saved on your user profile.

Your avatar appears in collaborative product areas that render user identity. The current picker does not show file-type or size guidance, so use a normal web image and verify the result after upload.

Display name

Enter 1 to 32 characters and select Save. The name is shown to teammates and in shared work.

Email

Enter a valid email address and select Save. This updates the email stored on the Eigenn user profile.

The current change-email control does not send a verification email and does not update the hosted identity provider in the same operation. Do not assume it changes the address used by Google, Apple, GitHub, email magic-link, or SSO authentication. Verify sign-in separately before retiring the old address.

Appearance

Choose light, dark, or system theme. Appearance is stored in browser theme storage, so a different browser or device can keep a different choice.

Date and Locale

Open Settings → Account → Date & Locale.

Locale

The selector presents countries and stores the selected country code on your profile. That value is used by formatting contexts in the product.

It does not navigate to a different language route or guarantee that every interface label is translated. The locale in the page URL still controls the current localized route.

Timezone

Enable Use device timezone to save the browser's current IANA timezone and mark automatic synchronization on. Turning it on updates the stored timezone at that moment.

The current app stores the automatic-sync flag but does not continuously watch for later device timezone changes. If you travel or change the operating-system timezone, revisit this page and toggle the setting or choose a fixed timezone.

Disable Use device timezone to select a fixed timezone manually.

Time format

Choose 12-hour or 24-hour display. The preference is consumed by invoice and scheduling views that use the user context.

Date format

Choose one of:

  • dd/MM/yyyy
  • MM/dd/yyyy
  • yyyy-MM-dd
  • dd.MM.yyyy

The preference is used by invoice, transaction, Inbox, search, export, and other date-formatting paths that load the user context. A public customer page can use its own formatting context.

Week start

Enable Start week on Monday for Monday-based calendar controls. Disable it for Sunday. Current consumers include invoice scheduling and selected calendar or widget paths; not every chart or third-party picker reads this preference.

Base Currency

Open Settings → Account → Currency. Base currency is a workspace value, even though it appears inside Account navigation. Only a workspace owner can change it.

  1. Select the new currency.
  2. Wait for the confirmation toast.
  3. Read the warning that transactions and account balances will be updated.
  4. Select Update in the toast to start the conversion job.
  5. Keep the app open until the completion message appears.

Selecting a currency saves the workspace base-currency value before the conversion confirmation. If you dismiss the toast without selecting Update, the workspace can show the new base currency while existing transaction and balance values have not been recalculated by the job.

Exchange-rate refresh and historical conversion are operational processes. Compare representative balances after completion before using converted totals for a decision.

Bank Connections

Settings → Account → Bank Connections is workspace-scoped. It lists and manages the active workspace's bank connections, not a personal bank profile. See Bank Connections before reconnecting or removing an account.

Personal Security

Open Settings → Account → Security to:

  • list enrolled MFA factors
  • see factor type and enrollment date
  • add a TOTP authenticator
  • remove a factor when policy allows

The current page does not display recovery codes, passkeys, trusted sessions, or a device-revocation list. See Security and Access for the workspace MFA policy.

Organizations, Teams, and Support

  • Organizations lists organizations you own and their identity-administration controls.
  • Teams supports switching, leaving, and managing workspace membership according to role.
  • Support sends an authenticated ticket associated with your profile email.

Organization and team behavior is documented in Teams and Organizations.

Delete Your Account

The Danger Zone on Settings → Account → General permanently deletes your user account.

  1. Review any sole-owned workspaces.
  2. Export records you are required to retain.
  3. Transfer ownership where another operator must keep a workspace.
  4. Cancel or review platform billing separately.
  5. Select Delete.
  6. Confirm the irreversible action.

Account deletion identifies workspaces you solely own, deletes the user, and queues external cleanup for those workspaces. It also removes your membership from other workspaces through database relationships.

The current primary Account deletion dialog does not require you to type your email or complete a fresh MFA challenge. Treat access to an unlocked session as sensitive.

Verification Checklist

After changing personal settings:

  • reload Account and confirm name, email, and avatar
  • open a date-heavy page and confirm the expected date and time formats
  • check the active workspace before validating base currency
  • verify that at least one MFA factor remains usable
  • sign out and test the intended authentication method before losing access to an old email or device

Troubleshooting

My email changed in Account but sign-in still uses the old address

The Account control updates the local Eigenn profile only. Use the hosted identity provider's supported process or contact your organization administrator before changing the sign-in identity.

Locale changed but the interface language did not

The selector stores a country code for user formatting. It does not replace the current localized URL route.

Device timezone did not update automatically after travel

Return to Date & Locale and toggle Use device timezone off and on, or select a fixed timezone. The stored auto-sync flag does not continuously watch the browser.

Base currency changed but balances did not

You likely saved the selection without starting the conversion job. Select the currency again and use Update in the confirmation toast, then wait for completion.

I cannot delete my last MFA factor

Your membership is subject to a workspace MFA policy. Add and verify another authenticator before removing the old one.
